Stephanie Huang

Golden Gate University School of Law

Stephanie Huang is a third year law student at Golden Gate University School of Law. She is currently a member of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association. Stephanie is also a Public Interest Scholar.

As a child, Stephanie witnessed Chinese-Americans shamed and cast aside because they could not speak English. These early experiences shaped Stephanie's desire to help immigrants and language minorities in need of legal services.

Stephanie uses her Mandarin and Cantonese language skills at the San Francisco Superior Court to help men and women facing domestic violence. Specifically, Stephanie helps low-income litigants prepare the necessary paperwork to obtain domestic violence restraining orders and other family law orders, such as child support and child custody orders. Stephanie says she is "committed to assisting victims of domestic violence," and chose to attend a public interest-centered law school with the intent of "serving those victims following graduation."

SOAR for Justice is pleased to award Stephanie a $500 Scholarship.
