California Western School of Law

Ana is a second year law student at California Western School of Law. She is involved in the Pro Bono Honors Society, National Lawyers Guild, American Constitution Society, Public Interest Law Foundation and La Raza Law Student Association.

Ana is a first-generation U.S. citizen, high school graduate, college graduate and law school student.  Ana has a strong desire to work toward a public interest legal career to balance the scale of social equity for vulnerable communities like the one she was raised in.

In her community service efforts, which include working at various nonprofits and landing a Peggy Browning Fellowship to help immigrant day-laborers, Ana has helped survivors of abuse and victims of violent crimes. She describes, for example, helping a Guatemalan woman apply for asylum after being victimized by gangs and watching her son being murdered. Ana's advocacy on behalf of undocumented immigrants exemplifies her desire "to help marginalized people to properly navigate through the justice system."

Ana is the recipient of a $500 SOAR for Justice Scholarship.
